Ramblings about entertainment, lifestyle and travel
If you belong to the group of people who were once again too slow secure tickets to this year’s Glastonbury (like me) or the countless other festivals, then you might still have a chance to experience a festival-like atmosphere. K West Hotel in Shepherds Bush will be launching a pop-up festival for Glastonbury fans who missed out on tickets this year.
From 8 June 2015, the rock ‘n’ roll hotel will be home to a ‘festival hub’ with live screenings of all the action, complete with fake grass, deck chairs, fairy lights, flowers, and a fun fancy dress prop box (perfect for selfies) to make festival goers feel at home.
A host of refreshing summery drinks menu will be on offer, with Jugs of Pimms, buckets of beer, and even Pimms sorbets to quench guest’s thirst. While a festival food menu will continue the theme with Halloumi & Basil Burgers, Cheese & Bacon Burgers, and Sweet Potato Fries on offer.
A ‘Festival Fun’ package will also be available priced at £149, for guests who want to enjoy the full festival experience at K West – guaranteed to be far more luxurious than your average tent in a field experience.
The ‘Festival Fun’ package includes entry to the festival hub plus an overnight stay for two with a blow up guitar in the room. Revellers will be equipped with a hangover breakfast in the morning, served in the room (breakfast burger with coffee, juice and an optional Bloody Mary) plus a hangover kit delivered to the room. Late checkout is mercifully arranged for 1pm. The package will be available from 1 June – 31 August 2015, Friday to Sunday only.
Formerly the BBC Building Kensington House in the 60s, an endless list of Rock ‘N’ Roll royalty has stayed, played and misbehaved at K West – Bob Marley and the Wailers, Bowie, The Kinks and Roxy Music to name a few. Since becoming a hotel, the venue has continued to strike a chord with musicians, who often stay whilst playing at nearby music venues O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and the Apollo.
