First Look: Fear the Walking Dead

The 90-minute season five finale of The Walking Dead was the highest rated season finale ever, with an impressive 15.8 million viewers with 10.4 million of those in the sought after 18-49 age demographic. So it’s little surprise that we all have high hopes for AMC’s new spin-off “Fear the Walking Dead”.

Set in Los Angeles, “Fear the Walking Dead” focuses on new characters and storylines. Production of the drama began in Vancouver last month and additional filming will take place in Los Angeles.

The companion series will launch in the UK this September and will be available exclusively to BT customers through a multi-year agreement on BT TV.

To get us even more excited, AMC has released a brand new on-air promo that ironically doesn’t show any zombies, but it does show a very scared looking Nick escaping:

The cast includes Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, “Sons of Anarchy”) as Madison, Cliff Curtis (“Missing,” “Gang Related”) as Travis, Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) as Nick and Alycia Debnam-Carey (Into the Storm) as Alicia. Also joining the cast as series regulars are Elizabeth Rodriguez (“Orange is the New Black”) as Liza and Mercedes Mason (Quarantine 2: Terminal) as Ofelia.

The series’ first season will consist of six one-hour episodes. A second season will premiere in 2016.

What do you make of the promo? Are you excited?
