First trailer revealed: Bridget Jones’ Baby

Bridget Jones's BabyNow when I heard that there was going to be a third instalment of the nation’s favourite Bridget Jones, I have to say I was pretty excited. When I found out that Colin Firth was going to return, too, I was ecstatic and when I found out that Patrick Dempsey was also going to join the cast, I nearly wet my pants.

I have to confess that I’m still not quite over Shonda Rhimes’ betrayal in killing off Derek (how could you!), but I’m okay as long as everyone else casts him for every other role there is. So thank you Sharon Maguire for that one.

Directed by Sharon Maguire (Bridget Jones’s Diary), the new film in the beloved comedy series based on creator Helen Fielding’s heroine finds Bridget unexpectedly expecting.

After breaking up with Mark Darcy (Firth), Bridget Jones’s (Zellweger) “happily ever after” hasn’t quite gone according to plan. Fortysomething and single again, she decides to focus on her job as top news producer and surround herself with old friends and new.  For once, Bridget has everything completely under control.

Then her love life takes a turn and Bridget meets a dashing American named Jack (Dempsey), the suitor who is everything Mr. Darcy is not.  In an unlikely twist she finds herself pregnant, but with one hitch…she can only be fifty percent sure of the identity of her baby’s father.

Now in true Bridget style, there’s some controversy, a whole lot of ditziness, but above all, a whole lot of laughter…
